Biography
Donald Saddler (1920-2014) was an original member of the American Ballet Theatre, performing Giselle, The Firebird and other works. After returning from World War II, he moved to Broadway, where his dance performances included High Button Shoes(1947). His first role as a choreographer won him a Tony in 1953 for Wonderful Town, and he would win another for No, No Nanette (1971). His film choreography included Wonderful Town (1953). The projected revival of My Fair Lady was a success, opening in New York on December 9, 1993, and running for 165 performances. An Eliza was found, Melissa Errico, who earned a Drama Desk award nomination for the role. Philadelphian Frank McGlinn was a major patron of the theatre arts.
