Dulcie Gray, born Dulcie Winifred Catherine Bailey in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, is most closely associated with her husband, Michael Denison, with whom she appeared in several films and on stage (the couple, married from 1939 until Denison's death in 1998, performed in 26 stage productions together, including Candida and An Ideal Husband). made her film debut in 1942, and she had appeared in ten films before being cast with her husband in My Brother Jonathan in 1948. Their popularity soared after the pairing, and Gray would appear in a number of feature films, a TV miniseries and as a guest star on several TV shows (her last TV appearance was on Doctors in 2000). Gray has also written plays and authored 24 books, primarily crime novels, and her short story, "The Fur Brooch", was the basis for an episode of Rod Serling's Night Gallery (1972). Gray and Denison, who had also served in British Intelligence during WWII, were honored on an episode of This is Your Life in 1995.
