Biography | show moreshow less
Dustin Hoffman (b.1937), heralded the arrival of a new era of Hollywood stardom. Diminutive, wiry and unassuming, he was anything but the usual matinee idol, yet he quickly distinguished himself among the most popular and celebrated screen performers of his generation. He has won two Academy Awards for Best Actor (Kramer vs. Kramer, 1980, and Rain Man, 1989) in addition to earning five Oscar nominations (The Graduate, 1968; Midnight Cowboy, 1970; Lenny, 1975; Tootsie, 1983; and, Wag the Dog, 1998). Hoffman was seen as Ben Stiller's (Greg Focker's) father in Meet the Fockers (2004), the sequel to the highly successful Meet the Parents (2000).
