Biography
Edie Adams born Elizabeth Edith Enke (1927-2008), who appeared on TV's popular Ernie Kovacs Show in the early 1950s, was married to Kovacs from 1954 until his death in 1962. Known to television audiences for her commercials for Muriel Cigars, she also appeared in several feature films, including The Apartment (1960) and The Best Man (1964). Adams, who received a Tony Award as Daisy Mae in Li'l Abner (1955), portrayed Mae West in a TV biography of her late husband, Ernie Kovacs: Between the Laughter (1984).
