Biography
Elsa Maxwell (1881-1963) organized parties for high society and royalty in the United States and Europe. Writer of a syndicated gossip column, she hosted her own radio program in the 1940s, Elsa Maxwell's Party Line. Maxwell introduced the scavenger hunt and treasure hunt as elements of a modern party. She reportedly introduced Rita Hayworth to Prince Aly Khan, and Maria Callas to Aristotle Onassis.
