Estelle Taylor (1894-1958, born Estelle Boylan in Wilmington, Delaware) began her show business career as a Broadway chorus dancer before debuting in films (While New York Sleeps, 1920). She appeared in the silent's The Ten Commandments (as Miriam, 1923) and gave a wry performance of Lucrezia Borgia in 1926's Don Juan before moving easily to "talkies". Taylor starred in such feature films as Cimarron (1931) and Call Her Savage (1932) before retiring in the 1930s. The actress, who also made news as the wife (1925-1931) of boxing champ Jack Dempsey, made her last film appearance in 1945 in The Southerner.
