Ethel Smith (1910-1996, born Ethel Goldsmith in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania) was an organist who played in a pop music style. She's probably best known for her recording of Tico Tico, which reached no. 14 on the U. S. pop charts and sold over one million copies worldwide. She also has a few acting credits; her first movie, Bathing Beauty (1944), included Tico Tico in its soundtrack. She wrote a manual of instruction for Hammond Organs.
