One of country music's most popular entertainers for over 30 years, FARON YOUNG (1932-1996) had 79 Top 10 hits, including "Hello Walls", "Sweet Dreams", "I Miss You Already", "Going Steady", "Four in the Morning", "Step Aside" and "This Little Girl of Mine". He and his band, considered one of the best show and dance bands in the genre, were popular on both tours and on television, and Young also brought his talents to the big screen, appearing in such films as Hidden Guns (which earned him his nickname, "The Sheriff") and Country Music Holiday. Young was enshrined in the Country Music Hall of Fame in 1999, three years after his death.
