Died: October 27, 1999 in Lafayette, California
Biography
Frank De Vol (1911-1999) was an American composer, arranger, and actor. After touring for several years with the Alvino Rey Orchestra, he began writing arrangements for recording studios and musicians, including stars like Nat King Cole, Ella Fitzgerald, Dinah Shore, and Doris Day. De Vol also produced The Supremes number one hit, "The Happening". His success led him to an executive position at Columbia Records, where he recorded a series of orchestral mood music under a recording name. He is most known, however, for his work in television, where he would make appearances with "Frank De Vol's Orchestra", and occasionally appearing simply as an actor. He also composed a number recognizable television tunes, including the theme song to The Brady Bunch (1969).
