Fred Couples, born Frederick Steven Couples on October 3, 1959, in Seattle, Washington, is an esteemed professional golfer renowned for his significant contributions to the sport, including 15 PGA Tour wins and a successful career on the Senior Tour, have solidified his place in golf's history.

After graduating from the University of Houston in 1980, Couples turned professional and joined the PGA Tour in 1981. He claimed his first tour victory in 1983 at the Kemper Open. Over the next decade, Couples consistently performed well, but it was in the 1990s when his career truly took flight. Couples' crowning achievement came in 1992 when he won the Masters Tournament at Augusta National Golf Club. This victory, along with his world number one ranking, which he held for 16 weeks that year, earned him the PGA Tour Player of the Year award. In 2010, Couples transitioned to the Senior PGA Tour (now known as the PGA Tour Champions), where he continued to display his prowess. He has claimed 13 victories on the Senior Tour, including two senior major championships: the 2011 Constellation Energy Senior Players Championship and the 2012 Senior Open Championship and was inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame in 2013
