Biography
George Harrison was an iconic English musician, singer-songwriter, and music and film producer, widely known as the lead guitarist of the Beatles, one of the most influential bands in the history of popular music. Born on February 25, 1943, in Liverpool, England, Harrison's unique musical style greatly influenced the Beatles' sound, especially their incorporation of Indian music and instruments.
Known as the "Quiet Beatle", Harrison wrote some of the group's most memorable songs, including "While My Guitar Gently Weeps", "Here Comes the Sun", and "Something". After the Beatles disbanded in 1970, he embarked on a successful solo career, marked by hits like "My Sweet Lord" and "What Is Life". Harrison also organized the 1971 Concert for Bangladesh, one of the first major music benefits, and co-founded the film production company HandMade Films. His contributions to music were recognized when he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame twice.
