Canadian Hockey Hall of Fame: Inducted in 1985Played 19 professional seasons from 1961 to 1980Awards: 1964–65 Harry (Hap) Holmes Memorial Award, which goes to the AHL goalie with the best goals against average. Played in the 1969 NHL All-Star Game. 1973 WHA First Team All-Star, won Ben Hatskin Award for best goaltender. 1979–80 Runner-up for the NHL's Vezina Memorial Trophy (Lowest goals against average). Inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1985. Inducted into the Rochester Americans Hall of Fame in 1987. Career: Promoted to Toronto from Sault Ste. Marie (EPHL) to replace injured Johnny Bower in games on December 2 (Toronto 6, Chicago 4) and December 3 (Detroit 3, Toronto 1), 1961. Claimed by Boston from Toronto in Intra-League Draft, June 9, 1965. Selected by New England (WHA) in WHA General Player Draft, February 12, 1972. WHA rights traded to Cleveland (WHA) by New England (WHA) for cash, June, 1972. Suspended by Cleveland (WHA) for leaving team and refusing to play, January 25, 1976. Signed as a free agent by Boston after securing his release from Cleveland (WHA), January 27, 1976.
