Biography
Ginger Lees (1905-1982) made his professional motorcycle racing debut in 1928 at a spring event in Manchester. He started his career with Bumley but moved to the Liverpool Chads in 1930 and to Preston in 1931. Lees ran an impressive race in the England v. Australia matchup of 1931, catching the eye of the Wembley Lions who signed him the following season. In 1932 he took home the inaugural National League championship. He later placed in the Star Riders' Championship and the World Championships in 1936 and 1937. He retired in 1937.
