Glenn Woodward Davis, born on December 26, 1924, in Claremont, California, was a distinguished American football player renowned for his prowess on the gridiron.

While attending the United States Military Academy at West Point, Davis partnered with Felix "Doc" Blanchard to form the iconic backfield duo known as "Mr. Inside and Mr. Outside." While Blanchard was "Mr. Inside" for his powerful running inside the tackles, Davis, as "Mr. Outside," was celebrated for his exceptional speed and ability to run outside the tackles. During his tenure at West Point from 1943 to 1946, Davis amassed numerous accolades. Most notably, he clinched the Heisman Trophy in 1946, the highest honor in college football. This achievement followed a remarkable season where he rushed for 712 yards and scored 11 touchdowns. Davis was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 1961

After graduating from West Point, Davis served in the U.S. Army and later played professional football with the Los Angeles Rams. However, injuries curtailed his professional career, and he transitioned to the realm of business and entertainment. Off the field, he also briefly ventured into Hollywood, making an appearance in the 1958 film "Tanks Are Coming."
