Biography | show moreshow less
Grace McDonald (1918-1999) formed a vaudeville dance team with her brother Ray McDonald, tap dancing their specialty. The pair was a hit on Broadway in Babes in Arms (1937), dancing and singing "I Wish I Were in Love Again". This success won both Hollywood contracts; Grace made her film debut in Dancing on a Dime (1940). Most of her films were B- musicals from Universal, but McDonald proved that she could also act in comedies (Abbott and Costello's It Ain't Hay, 1943) and dramas (Murder in the Blue Room (1945). She married a Marine lieutenant in 1944 and retired from the screen.
