Biography
Although she did not start painting until age 76, prolific "American Primitive" painter Anna Mary Robertson "Grandma" Moses (1860-1961) produced about 2,000 works. Painted mostly on masonite board, her primitive paintings depicted scenes from her childhood and rural life. Between her 100th birthday on September 7, 1960 and her death on December 13, 1961 at the age of 101, she completed 25 paintings.
