Biography
Harry Ellerbe (1901-1992) appeared in a dozen Broadway productions over a quarter century, from Philip Goes Forth (1931) to Desk Set (1955-1956). He made a few feature films, including So Red the Rose (1935) and The Man Who Understood (1959), but he was a much more frequent presence on TV from the 1950s to the early seventies, seen in sitcoms (Ozzie and Harriet, Dennis the Menace), Westerns (Rawhide) and dramas (The Fugitive). He directed regional theatres, including the Gregory Peck Actors Playhouse (La Jolla, California).
