Biography
Herbert Mundin was an incredibly prolific British character actor with over 50 movies to his credit between 1930 and his death in 1939 at the age of 40 in a car crash. He's best known as one of Robin Hood's Merrie Men, Much-the-Miller's-Son, in Errol Flynn's 1939 The Adventures of Robin Hood. But he has a number of other famous movies to his credit, including Sherlock Holmes (1932), Cavalcade (1933), David Copperfield (1935) and Mutiny on the Bounty (1935). His jowly face and Cockney accent often got him cast as older, cheeky eccentrics. Born in 1898, he started acting on the London stage in the 1920s and got his big break when Charlot's Revue opened on Broadway in 1925.
