Herman Wouk (b. 1915), won the 1952 Pulitzer Prize in fiction for The Caine Mutiny. The book became a Broadway play and the 1954 film version, starring Humphrey Bogart as Captain Queeg, was nominated for six Academy Awards. Wouk's other works include the best-sellers Marjorie Morningstar (1955), Youngblood Hawke (1962), The Winds of War (1971) and War and Remembrance (1978). All of these works became films or - in the case of the latter two - TV miniseries. Wouk's honors include the Guardian of Zion Award (1998) and the first Library of Congress Lifetime Achievement Award for fiction (2008).
