Biography
James Gleason (1882-1959) appeared in over 150 films from the late 1920s through the 1950s, usually cast in secondary roles as a tough-talking but benign urban character. Gleason, a veteran of the Spanish-American War and World War I, was also a playwright and screenwriter, and he made several TV guest appearances in the 1950s.
