Biography
James Leo Herlihy (1927-1993) wrote three novels: All Fall Down (1960), Midnight Cowboy (1965), and Season of the Witch (1971). His plays included Blue Denim (1958). All these works were adapted for film. He also acted occasionally, appearing in Edward Albee's play Zoo Story in 1963 and in the move Four Friends (1981). Herlihy committed suicide with an overdose of sleeping pills.
