Jimmy Dean (1928-2010) had a big crossover hit, "Big, Bad John" (1961), followed by "P.T. 109" (1962). His has been a familiar face on TV, with regular roles on two series (Daniel Boone, 1964-1967; J. J. Starbuck, 1987-1988), his own variety show (1963-1966) and long-running commercials for his own brand of pork sausages. He appeared in a Bond film, Diamonds Are Forever (1971).
