Jo Carner, born JoAnne Gunderson in Kirkland, Washington in 1939, is a retired American golfer. Carner started out with a stellar amateur career; she is, as of this biography, the only golfer to have won three different USGA amateur championship events, and her total of five amateur victories is only matched by Glenna Collett Vare's total of six. She went pro in 1970, after winning an LPGA event as an amateur in 1969, and was named 1970 LPGA Rookie of the Year. She has since gone on to 43 wins on the LPGA tour, including two wins on the U. S. Women's Open (1971 and 1976). She was inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame in 1982.
