Biography
JOE WALCOTT (1914-1994) lost four bids for the World Heavyweight title (twice to Joe Louis and twice to Ezzard Charles) before besting Charles to win the crown in 1951. He beat Charles again to defend his title, but lost it the following year to Rocky Marciano. At age 37, he was the oldest heavyweight champion until George Foreman broke that mark in 1994 (age 45).
