Joey Adams (January 6, 1911 – December 2, 1999) was an American comedian and humorist known for his prolific career spanning over seven decades. Born in Brooklyn, New York, Adams began his career in vaudeville during the 1930s, quickly establishing himself as a comedic force.

In the 1950s, Adams became a regular presence on television, appearing on popular programs of the era and showcasing his wit and comedic timing. This extended his reach and made him a household name in the United States. Apart from his performances, Adams was also a talented writer. He penned several books, the most notable being "The Curtain Never Falls" and "Joey Adams' Joke Book." His daily joke column, which ran in the New York Post for over 40 years, was widely read and further solidified his status as a comedic legend.

Adams's influence wasn't limited to just entertainment. He played an active role in philanthropy and was particularly involved with the Friars Club of New York, an organization dedicated to comedy and charitable works. His efforts earned him the respect and admiration of his peers and had a lasting impact on the comedic community.

His personal life was equally noteworthy. In 1945, Joey married Cindy Heller, who later became known as columnist Cindy Adams. The two were a formidable pair in New York social circles, and their union lasted until Joey's passing.
