John Lund, born February 6, 1911, in Rochester, New York, was an American film actor whose career spanned over three decades from the 1940s to the 1960s. Lund demonstrated a versatility that enabled him to thrive in a range of genres, including drama, comedy, and musicals.
Lund's breakthrough role came in the 1946 film "To Each His Own," where he co-starred with Olivia de Havilland. His performance as dual characters drew praise and significantly boosted his career. Following this success, he went on to appear in a number of well-received films in the late 1940s and 1950s. His memorable roles include Johnny O'Connor in "A Foreign Affair" (1948), a romantic comedy directed by Billy Wilder, and Robert Breen in "Duchess of Idaho" (1950), a musical comedy. Towards the end of his career, Lund transitioned to television, appearing in series such as "Perry Mason" and "The Investigators." He retired from acting in the late 1960s.
