Lee Lester, born Sylvester Lee Lester III, is an American painter and sculptor who specializes in wildlife and nature pieces. Having spent his youth in the Colorado wilderness, working on basic art skills by sketching the natural world around him, it was an obvious choice for him to attend the Denver Rocky Mountain School of Art. Attributing some of his style to many artists, Lester cites Carl Rungius, a popular wildlife artist, as his main inspiration. Eventually, Lester opened his own foundry in Oklahama, in which he mastered the skills required to produce metal sculptures. While preferring to work with watercolors, pastels, oils, pewter, and bronze, Lester is also known for his work with a simple sketch pad, leather, and fabrics. As an artist and businessman, he has owned a number of galleries and a foundry. Besides producing works of art, Lester has been known to teach art classes, as well as provide professional guide work around the world. From sketches to sculptures, Lee Lester's art can be found on almost every continent.
