Biography
In 1957, Marvin (1924-1957) debuted in his breakout role as Detective Lieutenant Frank Ballinger on the TV series M Squad. He also appeared in the movie Raintree Country and on two other anthology TV series: Climax! And Studio 57. The epitome of a Hollywood tough guy, Marvin (1924-1987) played mostly supporting parts before his breakout role as Lt. Frank Ballinger on TV's M Squad (1957-1960). He won the Academy Award as Best Actor for Cat Ballou in 1965. Among his other well-known films are The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance (1962), The Dirty Dozenand Point Blank (both 1967) and The Big Red One (1980).
