Biography
Linda Stirling (1921-1997), born Louise Schultz, made her acting debut as a model in 1943's The Powers Girl. She found fame after Republic Pictures executives saw her in an advertisement, and, after convincing both Republic executives and veteran stuntman Yakima Canutt that she could do her own stunts, Stirling began her career as a popular action star in a number of Republic serials, Westerns and adventure films, beginning with The Tiger Woman in 1944. After making her last films in 1947, Stirling appeared on several TV shows, from The Adventures of Kit Carson (1951, 1955) to The Millionaire (1956). She was later seen in several made-for-TV movies in 1966.
