Biography
Louise Kartousch (1886-1964) was a character actor and operetta singer hailing from Austria. First beginning an acting career as a child, Kartousch rose to prominence during what was called the Silver Era of Viennese Opera, landing leading roles in Dollarprinzessin, Rose von Stambul, and Graf von Luxemburg. Kartousch also made a number of film appearances, with most of her roles occurring in the 1930's, including The Happiest Married Couple in Vienna (1937) and Die Pompadour (1935).
