Biography
Julio Sanguily Garrite (1845-1906), was a Major General of the Cuban Liberation Army who two days after the beginning of the War of 1868 left La Habana to go to Las Bahamas and returned to Cuba as a expeditionary in the schooner Galvanic, which landed in Camaguey in December 27, 1868 under the command of General Manuel de Quesada; Julio was later his chief bodyguard and assistant.
