Biography
Lanny Ross (1906-1988) began his career in the 1930s as a radio crooner, best known for singing "Moonlight and Roses". Over the next two decades, he would host the NBC radio show, Show Boat, appear on radio and TV versions of Your Hit Parade and host his own TV series, The Swift Show (1948). Ross also appeared in several feature films, including Yours Sincerely (1933), Melody in Spring (1934), College Rhythm (1934), The Lady Objects (1938), Gulliver's Travels(1939; animated, as the voice of Prince David), Stage Door Canteen (1943) and Banjo (1947). He later hosted an episode of The Bell Telephone Hour in 1962.
