Born on January 14, 1915, in Sacramento, California, Mark Goodson was a preeminent American television game show producer. Together with his longtime business partner Bill Todman, Goodson created some of the most iconic and enduring game shows of the 20th century.
Graduating from the University of California, Berkeley, Goodson initially pursued a career in broadcasting, working as a disc jockey before transitioning into the role of a producer. His partnership with Todman, established in the late 1940s, would go on to form a television production powerhouse: Goodson-Todman Productions. Under the Goodson-Todman banner, Goodson produced a litany of hit game shows. Among their notable creations are "The Price Is Right," "Family Feud," "Match Game," "Beat the Clock," and "What's My Line?". Many of these shows were not only popular during their original runs but have seen revivals and adaptations in various countries, attesting to their universal appeal.
