Biography
Martha O'Driscoll (1922-1998) made 37 films, including musicals for Universal and melodramas for RKO, before retiring at age 25 to marry Chicago businessman Arthur Appleton. Then she flourished in Chicago high society, and at Bridlewood Farm, in Flordia, where the Appletons raised thoroughbreds. Although she made no films after 1947, O'Driscoll was a favorite at film nostalgia conventions in her later years.
