Country music legend MEL TILLIS, who began his career as a songwriter in 1956, has recorded more than 60 albums, released 36 Top 10 singles (nine of them No. 1 hits) and been honored with numerous awards, including the Country Music Association's Entertainer of the Year, the Golden Voice Entertainer Award (2001) and the Golden R.O.P.E. Songwriter Award (2001), and he was named Songwriter of the Decade in 1999.
