Biography | show moreshow less
Miguel Llobet Solés (1878-1938)) gave his first public performance in Valencia (1901), and performed for the Spanish Royal Family two years later. Living for a time in Paris (1905-1910), he proved very popular there, and he toured widely in Europe and the Americas. He composed original works, and also arranged Catalan folk songs for guitar. His pupils included Andres Segovia. It's probably not that he died in the bombardment of his native Barcelona, but grief over the city's distress probably hastened his death.
