Biography
An Olympic gold medallist (1992), Oscar de la Hoya has held world boxing titles in four weight classes: lightweight, super lightweight, welterweight and junior middleweight. The popular fighter was unbeaten until losing the WBC Welterweight title to Felix Trinidad in a split decision (1999). He has since won WBA and WBC belts in the Junior Middleweight category. De la Hoya retired from the ring in 2009, having generated more boxing revenue (most from pay per view) than any fighter in history.
