Biography | show moreshow less
Otto Kruger (1885-1974, born in Toledo, Ohio) was a five-decade veteran of the stage and the silver screen, with 31 acting credits on Broadway between 1915 and 1949 and almost 120 movies and TV shows between 1915 and 1964. Kruger was a frequent star between 1933 and 1958 and a versatile actor who proved equally adept at villainy (the sabotage ringleader in Saboteur, 1942; blackmailer Jules Amthor in Raymond Chandler's Murder My Sweet, 1944); and less frequently virtue (Nobel Prize winner Dr. Emil von Behring in Dr. Ehrlich's Magic Bullet, 1940). He was the grandnephew of South African pioneer and president Paul Kruger.
