Biography | show moreshow less
Paul Benedict (1938-2008, born in Silver City, NM) was in demand as an actor on TV, film and stage (including several Broadway credits) for over 40 years, with his last movie, 2008's Side By Each, in post-production as of his death. His characteristic features were caused by a rare and potentially fatal disease caused acromegaly, which he had treated as a young man. But he chose to play it up for laughs instead of tragedy. Audiences may remember him as Harry Bentley on The Jeffersons (1975-1985) and in comedic roles in The Front Page (1974), The Goodbye Girl (1977), The Man with Two Brains (1983), This Is Spinal Tap (1984), The Freshman (1990) and The Addams Family (1991).
