Biography
Soccer great Pelé (Edson Arantes do Nascimento) led Brazil to three World Cup titles (1958, 1962, 1970). He came to the U.S. in 1975 to play for the New York Cosmos in the North American Soccer League, scoring 1,281 goals in 22 years. Later, "the Black Pearl", who was voted "Athlete of the Century" by the National Olympic Committees, became Brazil's Minister of Sport.
