Biography
Penny Edwards (1928-1998) starred in more than twenty films, mostly Westerns and mostly from Republic pictures, from 1947-1957. Edwards, who temporarily replaced the pregnant Dale Evans in several Roy Rogers films, later made a number of appearances on the small screen, both in guest starring roles on TV series (again, mostly Westerns, including Wagon Train and Bonanza) and in commercials. Originally a singer, Edwards appeared in the Ziegfeld Follies of 1943 and performed with the St Louis Opera. Many of her early films had a musical component.
