Biography
Phil Harris (1904-1995), a regular on Jack Benny's radio show (1936-1946), popularized the song "That's What I Like About the South". Harris appeared in a few films, including The High and the Mighty (1954). Later he proved a successful voice actor in Walt Disney animations, including The Jungle Book (as Baloo, 1967). Married to actress Alice Faye from 1941 until his death, he co-starred with her on another radio show (1948-1954), episodes of which show up frequently on radio tape and CD collections.
