The hit musical Promises, Promises ran on Broadway from December 1, 1968 to January 1, 1972. Based on a book by Neil Simon and a film - The Apartment - by Billy Wilder, the show featured music by Burt Bacharach and lyrics by Hal David. It was nominated for five Tonys in 1969, including Best Musical.
