Raymond Earl Burris, born on August 22, 1950, in Idabel, Oklahoma, is a former American professional baseball pitcher who played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for 15 seasons from 1973 to 1987. Over his career, Burris played for several teams, including the Chicago Cubs, New York Yankees, New York Mets, Montreal Expos, Oakland Athletics, Milwaukee Brewers, and St. Louis Cardinals.

Burris was drafted by the Chicago Cubs in the 17th round of the 1972 MLB Draft. He made his MLB debut on September 5, 1973, with the Cubs. During his time with Chicago, which lasted until 1979, Burris established himself as a reliable starting pitcher, known for his durability and consistency on the mound. His best season with the Cubs came in 1975 when he won 15 games and posted a 4.12 ERA.

After his tenure with the Cubs, Burris was traded to the New York Yankees in 1979, subsequently moving through several teams over the rest of his career. One of his standout seasons came in 1984 with the Milwaukee Brewers, where he recorded a career-best 13 wins and a 3.65 ERA.

Burris' career statistics include 108 wins, 134 losses, and an ERA of 4.17 over 2,046 innings pitched.

After retiring from playing, Ray Burris transitioned into coaching and player development, workin in various capacities for MLB organizations, including serving as a pitching coach in the minor leagues and as a player development assistant.
