Biography
Richard Doddridge Blackmore (1825-1900), who is best known for his 1869 novel, Lorna Doone, was one of the most famous novelists of his generation. His works and his influence on British literary style were celebrated in both Britain and in the U.S., although most of his books, save Lorna Doone, are now out of print.
