Biography
Actor Richard "Chito" Martin (1917-1994) was a prominent RKO studio actor, most known as his fabled Irish-Mexican sidekick character "Chito Rafferty."  Beginning as a receptionist at MGM, Martin signed with RKO studios in 1942 and went on to appear in over 60 films with the company.   He developed the character "Chito" for the 1943 film Bombadier; however, the character turned out to be the perfect toady to Tim Holt who was also signed to RKO.  Holt and Martin paired as a duo and filmed 29 movies together, including Hot Lead (1951), Wanderer of the Wasteland (1945) and Wild Horse Mesa (1947).
