Biography | show moreshow less
Candid photograph. Rita Hayworth (1918-1987) earned the title of "Hollywood's Love Goddess" for her appearance in the 1946 film, Gilda. After making her screen debut in 1935, she was cast in her first prominent role in 1939's Only Angels Have Wings. Two films, You'll Never Get Rich (1941) and You Were Never Lovelier (1942), established her as a dancing star of 1940s musicals and made her a popular pin-up with soldiers during WWII. Hayworth's other film credits include You Were Never Lovelier (1942), The Lady from Shanghai (1948) and Pal Joey (1957).
