Born in Quincy, Illinois, on December 9, 1904, Robert Livingston, whose real name was Robert Edgar Randall, emerged as a recognizable face in the world of Western films during Hollywood's Golden Age and spanning nearly four decades.
Robert Livingston is perhaps best known for his tenure as one of the Three Mesquiteers, a trio that starred in a series of 51 Western B-movies between 1936 and 1943. Livingston appeared in 29 of these films, alongside actors Ray "Crash" Corrigan and Max Terhune. Some notable entries in this series include "Riders of the Whistling Skull" (1937) and "Heroes of the Hills" (1938). Beyond his association with the Mesquiteers, Livingston starred in numerous other films, displaying a versatility that transcended the Western genre. Some of his notable roles include parts in "The Vigilantes Are Coming" (1936) where he played the lead role and "The Lone Ranger Rides Again" (1939), in which he portrayed the character, 'Bob Stuart'.
