Robert M. Calfee (1876-1968) was a lawyer based out of Cleveland Ohio, founding his law firm in 1908. Originally named Bemis, Zizelman & Calfee after his two partners, the firm would go through several names and partners, with Calfee remaining a constant throughout the years. Calfee briefly turned over management of the firm to one of his partners when he traveled to Washington D.C. to counsel the inventor of the Lewis Machine Gun. Soon after, he went to Czechoslovakia to help the draw up a new constitution for the sovereign state. He returned to America and resumed business at his firm until his death in 1968.
