Biography
Russ Morgan (1904-1969) was a successful music arranger, composer, pianist and big band leader who achieved great popularity with radio audiences from the 1930s into the 1950s. His show "Music in the Morgan Manner" was one of the most popular shows on radio. In 1936, after meeting Rudy Vallee at Brunswick Records, Morgan was inspired to start his own band, The Russ Morgan Orchestra. He had success throughout the 1940s and 50s, continuing to perform in Las Vegas until his death in 1969.
